I suppose that he speaks just of bands with english-based lyrics from all around the world. Therefore, it can be english-speaking russian bands. Well, the sad part is that most of our vocalists, that can sing through english lyrics theoretically, have serious problems with english pronunciation and stuff in practice.

So than, what can I say...Discussing hundreds(if not thousands) groups in one topic seems to me a little bit problematic
By the way, I suppose english to be the best language for rock, an especially metal music. For example, I can't imagine heavy or power metal with french lyrics

I guess you really need to listen to it (by the way, the word "band" is not really correct, as it is actually a project of Arjen Lucassen, the rest of members are usually guest ones). I would advise you to start from the album "The Human Equation" (2004), or the last one, "01011001" (just look at the list of guest vocalists )
As for the mood, that's quite different — positive, peaceful, melancholic, sometimes even a bit aggressive...
In fact, most of the music I listen to has English lyrics. However, there are not only English and Russian songs in my playlists. I'm fond of "German-speaking" (no, that's not only Rammstein) and "Spanish-speaking" music. There are also some songs in Irish (Enya), Finnish (Korpiklaani), Hebrew, Arabian. There are even more exotic variants — an extinct Gaulish language used by Eluveitie, or an artificial language — Kobaian (band Magma) |
