Santiago Martín Salvador started drawing as a teen. He drew for the juvenile magazine Baladín in the 1950s and the comic book Chicos, for which he created the western 'Mendoza Colt'. He went to work for Josep Toutain's Selecciones Illustradas agency, where he did 'Robin Hood', 'Dick Daring' and numerous war stories for foreign publications, as well as contributions to the American horror magazine Creepy. In 1969 he became the main artist on the European comic book based on Leslie Charteris' The Saint, but he also continued working on other series like 'Dick Turpin' (with Victor Mora) and 'James Bond'.
