Карен Джой Фаулер/Karen Joy Fowler (род. 7 февраля 1950) – американская писательница НФ, фэнтези и реалистической литературы, редактор.
Родилась в г. Блумингтон (штат Индиана), где и провела первые одиннадцать лет жизни. Затем ее семья переехала в г. Пало-Альто (штат Калифорния). Карен Джой училась в Калифорнийском университете в Беркли, специализируясь на политологии. Родив ребенка на последнем курсе магистратуры, она занялась домашним хозяйством и воспитанием ребенка. Чувствуя неудовлетворенность, записалась на уроки танцев, а затем на курс развития писательских навыков в Калифорнийском университете в Дэвисе. Решив, что вряд ли добьется успеха в качестве танцовщицы, Карин Джой Фаулер переключилась полностью на писательство. Дебютировала в фантастике новеллой “Recalling Cinderella/Вспоминая Золушку” (1985, ант. “L. Ron Habbard Presents Writers of Future”, vol. 1),
получившей признание читателей и литературных критиков.
